Birthing Center
The Maternal Child Care Unit, located on the second floor of Permian Regional Medical Center, is an integrated unit offering a variety of services for both women and children.
Our Labor and Delivery area is equipped with five Labor Delivery Recovery Post Partum rooms and is staffed with highly qualified Registered Nurses. Care of the mother and infant occur in these rooms allowing time for bonding with the infant. We believe in family bonding and encourage Lamaze training and father participation in the birthing process. An Emergency C-Section operating room is maintained on the unit to provide care if necessary.
The Nursery is located near the Labor Delivery Recovery rooms and a qualified nursery staff is in attendance for all deliveries. All staff is Neonatal Resuscitation certified.
Our Post Partum/Pediatric floor is located near the Nursery. This allows for a smooth transition from delivery of infant to nursery and post-partum care. The Post Partum floor is staffed to care for the recovery of surgical procedures for both women and children. The Pediatric area is currently being remodeled to provide an activity room, videos and other activities to make the hospital stay easier for children and parents.
